The Clarity Upscaler guide for massive images

Almost every piece in this gallery started as a modest image and was pushed through Clarity Upscaler until it was enormous, letting the AI hallucinate whole cities of new detail on the way up. This is exactly how. The settings that matter, the prompts, and nine worked examples you can copy straight into Replicate or the Clarity app.

The settings that matter

Creativity

How far the upscaler may wander from the original to invent new detail. This is where the magic lives: crank it to 8 or 9 in the Clarity app (0.85–0.9 on Replicate) and upscale to a massive size.

Resemblance

How closely the result holds to the original's structure. If you want to keep the overall form of your input, raise it (5+ in the app, about 1.0–1.2 on Replicate).

Dynamic

Contrast and dynamic range. Too much gets dirty and pixelated. For this guide leave it at 0 in the app; on Replicate leave it at its default of 6.

Fractality

Detail at smaller scales: how finely textures and patterns are reinterpreted. Higher means more texture and more artifacts. 0 or +1 here.

Style

Preset looks that shift the overall aesthetic. Leave it on default for these results.

Scale factor

How many times bigger. The examples go 5× to 10×. The bigger the jump, the more room the model has to dream.

It all comes down to creativity, resemblance, the prompt and the input image. The model underneath is Juggernaut Reborn, so the prompts below show how it responds to different artists, words and themes. On Replicate, the two <lora:…> tags in the prompt switch on Clarity's own detail LoRAs; keep them.
